Following the World Mental Day and Fiji Day celebrations, Athletics Fiji was at it again with their Kids' Athletics Program at the annual Dash for Diabetes which was organised by the Petero Civoniceva Foundation.
WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
This year’s World Mental Health Day fell on 10th October which just so happened to be Fiji Day and so piggy backing on Fiji Table Tennis’ drive to celebrate the day with a sports day for the Special Schools around Suva, Athletics Fiji took advantage of the opportunity to also set up Kids’ Athletics alongside the tables.

ASIAN INDOORS AND MARTIAL ARTS GAMES UPDATE
Athletics Fiji selected 10 athletes to the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games that currently underway in Turkmenistan in the city of Ashgabat. Despite the long travel, the team arrived all well to Turkmenistan and made quick work of trying to get used to the time zone difference and the 28 degree weather by day and 18 degrees by night.
LOCKINGTON SMASHES 22 YEAR OLD RECORD
Athletics Fiji held their 3rd and final trials for the 2017 Mini Pacific Games (MPG) over the weekend (16/09/2017) and the highlight of the trials was Shawntell Lockington's record high jump of 1.71m in the open women's final.
MOU AGREEMENT SIGNING WITH THINK PACIFIC
Following the MOU Agreement signing between Athletics Fiji and the Fiji National Sports Commission, another milestone was achieved this morning when another MOU Agreement was signed with the specialist volunteer organisation, Think Pacific.
