FIJI AT THE 2017 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Whilst Ratu Kadavulevu School students showed their rugby prowess at the Laucala Bowl over the weekend there was another RKS student athlete halfway across the world representing Fiji at the IAAF World Championships, Sailosi Tubuilagi ran in the 5th heat of the men’s 400m at the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London.

Tubuilagi capped off his 2016-2017 season with a 48.98s, not far off of his season’s best of 48.33s considering it was his first time on an international stage and not to mention first time flying.

Tubuilagi arrived into London and made quick of his training runs on the warm up track whilst trying to adjust to the time zone difference. He was drawn in lane 4 of the 5th heat and ran against Isaac Makwala, LaShawn Merritt and hometown English favorite Martyn Rooney.

  1. Well done brother, sky is the limit. You’re still young and you still have a long way to adjourn your career…All the very best in your preparation and representing our home country..Fiji…
