ASIAN INDOORS AND MARTIAL ARTS GAMES UPDATE
Athletics Fiji selected 10 athletes to the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games that currently underway in Turkmenistan in the city of Ashgabat. Despite the long travel, the team arrived all well to Turkmenistan and made quick work of trying to get used to the time zone difference and the 28 degree weather by day and 18 degrees by night.
LOCKINGTON SMASHES 22 YEAR OLD RECORD
Athletics Fiji held their 3rd and final trials for the 2017 Mini Pacific Games (MPG) over the weekend (16/09/2017) and the highlight of the trials was Shawntell Lockington's record high jump of 1.71m in the open women's final.
MOU AGREEMENT SIGNING WITH THINK PACIFIC
Following the MOU Agreement signing between Athletics Fiji and the Fiji National Sports Commission, another milestone was achieved this morning when another MOU Agreement was signed with the specialist volunteer organisation, Think Pacific.

SUVA DOMINATES ATHLETICS AT FIJI GAMES
Aaron Powell led the charge for the Suva team over the two day athletics competition during the Fiji Games over the weekend winning 2 out of the 23 gold medal haul and helped his relay team come from behind to snatch the 4x100m relay gold away from team Taveuni.
Fiji Games – Road to Vanuatu 2017
The 2nd of 3 mini pacific games trials for athletics begins today as Athletics Fiji look towards being at the top of Pacific Island Athletics once again. National Athletics coach and development officer, Albert Miller Snr, in an interview with Fiji Times after the 2017 Oceania Championships said that the focus of most athletes have now shifted towards the pacific mini games in Vanuatu in December.
MOU Signing 2017
Athletics Fiji in conjunction with Oceania Athletics and the Pacific Sports Partnership Program (PSP) donated a brand new Kids’ Athletics kit worth 2000 euros and entered into an agreement with the Fiji National Sports Commission (FNSC).
Trailblazers dominate 1st Mini SPG Trials
Athletics Fiji held their first of three Mini SPG trials over the weekend. Athletes braved the wet and cold Suva weather vying for a chance to book their spot on the Athletics team to the mini games in Vanuatu in December.
