With new sponsors for the 2024 Primary Schools Athletics Championships, no new winner was to be determined as Nadi continued their dominant run following last year’s historic win in the girls division and overall division.
Nadi improved their outing by taking out:
- all grades in the girls’ division,
- 1 boys’ grade title in the boys’ division,
- improved the boys’ team standings from 5th in 2023 to 2nd in 2024,
- overall girls’ division title and
- overall combined title.
In a recent facebook post, Head Coach Ilisapeci Navula expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Nadi Primary Schools’ Athletics Association’s Executive Committee, her family, Coaches and Officials, sponsors and supporters, former athletes and Boys in the Hood Gym.
Navula was particularly thankful to The Vanua o Navatulevu, Vanual o Nalagi, Vanua o Betaraurau for their generosity in hosting meals during camps.
Navula also dedicated the win to The Almighty Father and the hardworking athletes.
Nadi achieve a dominant victory, amassing 18 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze medals for a total of 34. Cakaudrove secured second place with 5 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze (7 total), while Macuata South and Lautoka followed closely with 14 medals each.
In the Boys Division, Suva 1 claimed the top spot with a commanding 12 gold, 9 silver, and 6 bronze medals, totalling 27 medals.
Nadi followed in second place with 6 gold, 6 silver, and 7 bronze, bringing their total to 19. Suva Rua secured third place with a tally of 5 gold, 5 silver, and 7 bronze medals (17 total).
