Joseph Rodan Jnr has become the latest Athletics Fiji inclusion on the Executive Board for FASANOC as one of its Vice Presidents alongside Makereta Lenoa, Harvie Probert, Cathy Wong, Vanessa Kilner and Jerome Kado.
Rodan was voted in at the FASANOC AGM held on 30/04/2018. Rodan said that this opportunity gives him the chance to contribute towards the strategic planning of FASANOC and ensuring its proper operationalization in order to achieve the ultimate goal, which he believes is to support the development of National Federations (NFs) activity plans and preparations for international games. Rodan Jnr believes that ultimately, FASANOC and NFs need to ensure and support proper pathways for the athletes development to ensure our athletes are well prepared and positioned to closing the gap on the elites of the world every year for the next 6yrs in order to have a strong outing come the 2024 Olympic Games.
The appointment also supports how pointed Athletics Fiji is with sticking to their Strategic Plan as to how they work more closely with the key Sporting Bodies, something he believes should be done more actively by all NFs and as well as all International Federations. It was also nice to see the confidence that other NFs had in Athletics Fiji’s candidate choice which shows the strong relationship that had been built with other National Federation’s. Its healthy for sports in our country.
